1. Purpose
This AI Disclaimer explains the limitations of artificial intelligence features available within Q Intelligence ("the Service"), operated by Scott Harvey-Whittle trading as SHW Digital Services.
It should be read together with the:

By using AI features, you acknowledge and accept the limitations described in this document.
Medical and Crisis Disclaimer
Not a Clinical Service
Q Intelligence is a self-help and guidance tool. It is not a clinical treatment service, a medical device, or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or psychiatric care. The platform's features, including AI conversations, life guides, and mood tracking, are intended for personal reflection and organisational purposes only.
Mood Tracking and Premium Insights
Journaling summaries and premium journal insights describe recorded patterns based solely on the data you choose to enter. They cannot diagnose a medical or mental health condition, establish the cause of a mood change, or represent your overall wellbeing on days you did not record.
Emergency and Crisis Support
Q Intelligence is not an emergency responder and does not provide a staffed helpline. The platform does not actively monitor your inputs for emergencies. While the application checks for crisis-related language and can signpost you to country-specific support directories, it cannot guarantee the detection of a crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, contact emergency services (such as 999 in the UK) or a dedicated helpline immediately.
Privacy and Data Security Disclaimer
Local AI and Network Usage
While Q Intelligence offers a "local AI" processing mode, this does not mean the application operates entirely offline. Core functions such as account authentication, selected cloud continuity features, and any hosted AI processing you choose to enable require active network services and internet connections.
Discretion Limits and Device Storage
Features such as the Notes interface and the app-lock PIN are designed to reduce casual on-screen exposure. However, setting an app PIN does not encrypt the content stored on your device. Using these features does not erase your device's browser history, downloads, or network traffic records.
Cloud Continuity and Hosted Processing Risks
If you opt into premium cloud continuity, your data is backed up to Q's cloud servers, but these backups are not end-to-end encrypted. If you explicitly select hosted AI processing, your conversation context is sent to the configured provider: Groq when configured, otherwise OpenAI. Q applies personal-information masking and sanitisation controls to these requests, but absolute anonymity cannot be guaranteed, particularly if free-text journal entries or chat prompts contain identifiable details. Provider retention and location details appear in the Processor Register.
2. AI Technology
Q Intelligence provides both on-device AI through WebLLM and an optional hosted AI service. Users select the mode used for a conversation. These technologies assist users with tasks such as:
- answering questions;
- generating text;
- summarising documents;
- analysing uploaded content;
- brainstorming ideas;
- drafting content;
- transforming information;
- explaining concepts.
AI models generate responses probabilistically and do not "know" facts in the same way a human expert does.
3. No Guarantee of Accuracy
AI-generated output may:
- contain factual inaccuracies;
- omit important information;
- misinterpret prompts;
- include outdated information;
- generate incorrect calculations;
- produce inconsistent answers.
You must independently verify all AI-generated information before relying upon it.
4. No Professional Advice
AI responses are provided for general informational purposes only.
They are not legal, financial, accounting, tax, medical, engineering, compliance, or other regulated professional advice.
You should consult an appropriately qualified professional before making decisions that could have legal, financial, medical, or other significant consequences.
5. User Responsibility
You remain solely responsible for:
- prompts you submit;
- files you upload;
- instructions you provide;
- decisions made using AI-generated content;
- reviewing and validating outputs before use.
The Service assists users—it does not replace human judgement.
6. User Content
You should only upload content that you:
- own;
- are authorised to use;
- are legally permitted to process.
Do not upload confidential, sensitive, or regulated information unless you have the necessary authority and your use complies with applicable laws and organisational policies.
7. Intellectual Property
AI-generated output may resemble publicly available material or content generated for other users.
Q Intelligence does not guarantee that AI-generated content:
- is unique;
- is free from third-party intellectual property rights;
- is suitable for commercial use without further review.
You are responsible for carrying out appropriate legal and commercial checks before publishing or using AI-generated content.
8. Availability of AI Services
Local AI depends on compatible browser hardware, WebGPU support, sufficient storage, and the availability of model-download infrastructure. Hosted AI depends on configured third-party providers (Groq or OpenAI) and network availability.
We may:
- modify AI features;
- replace AI providers;
- introduce usage limits;
- suspend AI services;
- discontinue specific AI functionality,
without liability where reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, or commercial reasons.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SHW Digital Services accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from:
- reliance on AI-generated output;
- inaccurate or incomplete responses;
- interruptions to AI services;
- decisions made using AI-generated information;
- business losses resulting from AI output.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Acceptable AI Use
You must not use Q Intelligence's AI features to:
- generate unlawful content;
- facilitate fraud;
- create malicious software;
- impersonate individuals;
- infringe intellectual property rights;
- harass, threaten, or abuse others;
- violate applicable laws.
Use of AI features remains subject to our Acceptable Use Policy.
11. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this AI Disclaimer from time to time to reflect:
- legal developments;
- changes to AI providers;
- new platform functionality;
- regulatory guidance;
- operational improvements.
